<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan Kepolisian dalam upaya memberantas tindak pidana penyebaran berita bohong (Hoax) di wilayah Polda Sulawesi Selatan, dan Faktor yang menjadi penghambat pelaksanaan Kepolisian dalam memberantas tindak pidana penyebaran berita bohong (Hoax) di wilayah Polda Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan (Polda Sulsel). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian gabungan hukum normatif dan empiris (sosiologis), yaitu penelitian yang menggunakan data sekunder atau data yang diperoleh melalui bahan kepustakaan dan juga faktafakta empiris yang diambil dari perilaku manusia, baik perilaku verbal yang didapat melalui wawancara maupun perilaku nyata melalui pengamatan langsung. Hasil yang penulis peroleh dari penelitian ini, yaitu (1) Peranan Kepolisian dalam memberantas berita bohong (Hoax) di wilayah hukum Polda Sulsel yaitu Memelihara Keamanan dan Ketertiban di Masyarakat, Menegakkan Hukum, Memberikan Perlindungan, Pengayom dan Pelayanan Pada Masyarakat. (2) Penghambat pemberantasan berita bohong (Hoax) di wilayah hukum Polda Sulsel yaitu Faktor hukum, Faktor Penegak Hukum, Faktor Sarana dan Prasarana, Faktor Masyarakat dan Faktor Budaya This study aims to determine the role of the Police in efforts to eradicate the crime of spreading fake news (Hoax) in the South Sulawesi Regional Police and the factors that hinder the implementation of the Police in eradicating the crime of spreading fake news (Hoax) in the South Sulawesi Regional Police. This research was conducted at the South Sulawesi Regional Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polda Sulsel).
