<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: untuk mengetahui peran polres ujung pandang dalam pemberantasan pencurian kendaraan bermotor untuk mengetahui hambatan Polsek Ujung Pandang dalam mengusut tindak pidana pencurian kendaraan bermotor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian hukum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya yang dilakukan Polres Ujung Pandang dalam menangani tindak pidana pencurian kendaraan bermotor di kota Makassar khususnya Kecamatan Ujung Pandang adalah upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan. Langkah-langkah telah diambil untuk mencegah kejahatan. Sedangkan penumpasan merupakan kekuatan yang harus diperhitungkan untuk menindak pelaku pencurian kendaraan bermotor. Penyebab terjadinya pencurian mobil di kota Makassar khususnya di Kecamatan Ujung Pandang adalah faktor ekonomi, sosial budaya, dan lingkungan.
