Hubungan Konsep Diri Akademik dengan Prokrastinasi Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri Se Kecamatan Grobogan

Abstract

Abstrak Banyaknya perilaku prokrastinasi dikalangan siswa menjadikan perilaku prokrastinasi penting untuk dieksplorasi lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan konsep diri akademik dengan prokrastinasi pada siswa SMP. Desain penelitian ini adalah ex post facto. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan General Procrastination Scale (GPS) yang diadaptasi dari Lay (1986) dan Academic Self Concept for Adolescents (ASCA) scale yang diapatasi dari Ordaz & Tomasini (2013). Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan culster random sampling taraf kesalahan 5% dengan total sampel 221 siswa dari populasi 599 siswa. Hasil analisis regresi hierarkis menunjukan adanya hubungan negatif signifikan antara konsep diri akademik dengan prokrastinasi (R= 0,094, F(4,213)=63,349, p<0,001). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka guru bimbingan dan konseling diharapkan dapat mengembangkan konsep diri akademik siswa dengan harapan dapat menurunkan kecenderungan siswa melakukan prokrastinasi. Abstract High frequency of procrastination behaviors among students makes procrastination behavior important to be explored further. This research aims to identify the relationship between academic self-concept and procrastination in junior high school students. The design of this research is ex post facto. The data were collected using the General Procrastination Scale (GPS) adapted from Lay (1986) and the Academic Self Concept for Adolescents (ASCA) scale adapted from Ordaz & Tomasini (2013). The sampling technique uses culster random sampling error rate of 5% with a total sample of 221 students from a population of 599 students. Hierarchical regression analysis results showed a significant negative relationship between academic self-concept and procrastination (R = 0.094, F (4.213) = 63.394, p <0.001). Based on these results, the guidance and counseling teacher is expected to develop students' academic self-concepts in the hope of reducing the tendency of students to procrastinate
