Abstract

AbstrakRhodamin B adalah salah satu pewarna sintetis yang biasa digunakan pada industri tekstil dan kertas. Zat ini ditetapkan sebagai zat yang dilarang penggunaannya pada makanan melalui Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan (Permenkes) No.239/Menkes/Per/V/85. Rhodamin B sering disalahgunakan sebagai pewarna makanan, terutama makanan jajanan. Meskipun telah ada larangan, namun masih banyak produsen yang menggunakan rhodamin B dalam produk makanannya. Rhodamin B dapat menyebabkan gangguan fungsi hati bahkan dapat menyebabkan kanker hati. Pada percobaan menggunakan mencit, rhodamin B menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan sel hati dari normal menjadi nekrosis dan jaringan di sekitarnya mengalami disintegrasi. Rhodamin B hanya boleh digunakan untuk pewarna teksil dan kertas. Artikel ini berisi studi literatur tentang analisis rhodamin pada berbagai macam makanan.  Kata Kunci : pewarna sintetik, rhodamin B, makanan  AbstractRhodamine B is a synthetic dye used in the textile and paper industries. This substance is defined as substance that is prohibited in food through the Regulation of Minister of Health No. 239/Menkes/Per/V/85. Rhodamine B is often misused as a dye that is often found in the food, especially the street food. Despite it is prohibited to be used in the food, many manufacturers are still using rhodamine B in their products. Rhodamine B can cause liver failure and even can cause liver cancer. In experiments using mice, rhodamine B causes liver cell changes from normal to necrosis and surrounding tissue disintegrating. Rhodamine B can only be used as textiles dye.
