Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the level of speaking anxiety perceives by the EFL learners. This study involves 57 students from secondary school. To collect the data qualitative approach was employed with questionnaire as the main instrument that consist of 33 items. The findings indicated that students experience various level of anxiety in speaking. There are 15 or (26%) students categorize anxious, 38 or (66%) students categorize middle anxious and only 4 (8%) categorize low anxious. By considering the various level students anxious, it concluded that most of students experienced middle level anxious. With this level, it is suggested that the teacher must aware psychological condition of students to ease them in learning English particularly speaking skill
