This study aims to determine the performance of school principals in improving teacher performance at SD Negeri 1 Kakas. This research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques by way of observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects were school principals, vice principals, teachers and supervisors. The leadership strategy of the principal of SD Negeri 1 Kakas in improving teacher performance shows leadership in a democratic style, not being rash in behavior and making decisions, always in deliberations. The principal's strategy for improving teacher performance is to cultivate discipline, set an example for teachers and students, hold seminars and training, collaborate with other educational institutions, bring in experts, provide opportunities for teachers to monitor each other, and provide and optimize educational facilities. and equipment. Motivating teachers, working in harmony, involving teachers in every activity, trying to fulfill the desires and needs of teachers in carrying out their responsibilities, rewarding teachers for improving performance, providing a sense of security at school, peace, using the principle of kinship.
