The purposes of this research are (1) to describe the lesson plan by using inquiry approach, (2) to describe the lesson activity by using inquiry approach, (3) to describe the result of teaching by using inquiry approach. The data of this research got from teaching learning process where conducted at elementary school 01 Koto Lamo. This research used quantitative and qualitative approach. The result of the research showed that the students got improvement in science class. The students could past the material up to 88%. It can be concluded that the inquiry approach can improve the students study achievement.   Kata Kunci: hasil belajar ; IPA; pendekatan inkuiri ; sd
