Abstrak : Teknologi membawa perubahan begitu cepat dalam berbagai bidang termasuk pendidikan, bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi yang harus dimiliki guru, dalam menghadapi tantangan era 4.0. Masalah guru semakin beragam. Upaya peningkatan kompetensi melalui sistem rekrutmen guru, hingga kemampuan mengajar untuk menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian bahwa guru harus memiliki karakter, kinerja, dan literasi. Karena kompetensi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru; serta meningkatkan kinerja guru, upaya yang dilakukan dengan meningkatkan sistem rekrutmen guru, upgrade informasi serta literasi digital dan pemberdayaan MGMP merupakan upaya peningkatan kompetensi guru. Kata Kunci: era 4.0 ; kompetensi guru; kualitas pendidikan. Abstract : Technology brings about changes so quickly in various fields including education, aiming to know the competencies that teachers must have, in facing the challenges of era 4.0. Teachers' problems are increasingly diverse. Efforts to improve competence through teacher recruitment system, to teaching ability to face future challenges. This research uses qualitative methods. The results of the study that teachers must have character, performance, and literacy. Because competence affects the performance of teachers; as well as improving teacher performance, efforts made by improving teacher recruitment systems, information upgrades and digital literacy and mgmp empowerment are efforts to improve teacher competence.
