Marriage creates a legal relationship with the child who is born, then the position of the child who is born will arise, which is all regulated by law. From the relationship with parents and children who are still underage, rights and obligations arise. The rights and obligations of parents towards underage children are regulated in the Civil Code and the Basic Marriage Law No.1 of 1974 with the title of parental power. Legal provisions regarding parental powers can be found in articles 298 to 329 BW. This study aims to determine the authority of parents according to the civil law code using descriptive qualitative methods with literature review analysis from various reference sources. The results showed that the parental power was divided into 3 parts, namely the power of the parents over the child. Parental power over children's property.
