Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi lisan maupun tulisan dan pemahaman konsep siswa SMAN 6 Bandung di kelas X MIPA 7 dengan menerapkan pembelajaran inkuiri berbantu two stay two stray (TSTS). Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan jumlah siswa 21 orang pada materi gerak lurus dengan indikator keberhasilan penelitian ini ketika nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi dan pemahaman konsep 75 dan siswa yang tuntas (minimal berkategori baik) 70%. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi dan tes pemahaman konsep yang dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil dari analisis data didapatkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi lisan siswa siklus I sebesar 53,2 dan siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 42,8%, Siklus II sebesar 75,4 dan siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 71%. Sedangkan untuk komunikasi tulisan untuk siklus I sebesar 72  dengan 47,6% yang tuntas dan siklus II sebesar 89,75 dengan 100% ketuntasan siswa. Selain itu nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep sebesar 67 untuk siklus I dengan ketuntasan 52,4% dan nilai rata-rata 79 dengan ketuntasan siswa sebesar 85,7% siklus II. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi siswa dan pemahaman konsep siswa meningkat. Dengan kata lain pembelajaran inkuiri berbantu TSTS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan pemahaman konsep siswa SMA.Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Komunikasi, Pemahaman Konsep, Pembelajaran Inkuiri, dan TSTS. The aim of this study was to improve oral and written communication skills and understanding of the concept of SMAN 6 Bandung students in class X MIPA 7 by applying inquiry learning assisted by two stays two stray (TSTS). This research was an action research with 21 students as a sample on Linear Motion subject with success indicators of this study is when the average value of communication skills and understanding of the concept is ≥75 and the percentage of students who pass (minimum category: good) is 70%. Data were collected through observation sheets and comprehension test that were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study showed that students' oral communication skills in the cycle I was 53.2 with the percentage of students who pass was 42,8%. In the cycle II, students' oral communication skills were 75.4 with the percentage of students who pass was 71%. Then, the written communications skill in the cycle I was 72% with the percentage of students who pass was 47,6% and in the cycle II was 89,75 with the percentage of students who pass was 100%. In addition, the average values of the ability of understanding the concept was 67 in the cycle I and 79 in the cycle II with the percentage of students who pass was 52,4% in cycle I and 85,7% in cycle II. It can be concluded that the communication skills and understanding of concepts of students were increased. In other words, an inquiry learning assisted by TSTS can improve communication skills and understanding of the concept of high school students.Keywords: Communication Skills, concept understanding, Inquiry learning, and TSTS.
