<![CDATA[Abstrak Penelitian ini mengungkap pandangan masyarakat Tulungagung terhadap calon Presiden serta keterkaitan antara orientasi pilihan partai politik dengan orientasi pilihan calon Presiden. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori konstruksi dari Peter L. Berger. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Tulungagung. Informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu masyarakat Tulungagung yang memiliki hak pilih dan tidak golput dalam pemilihan Presiden 2014 yang terbagi berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik konstruksi masyarakat Tulungagung cenderung bersifat stereotip negatif yang di dalamnya terdapat apriori dan aposteriori. Terkait penampilan calon Presiden masyarakat memiliki pandangan positif dan pandangan negatif terhadap penampilan calon Presiden. Pada masyarakat yang berpandangan positif menganggap bahwa penampilan mencerminkan karaker si pemakai. Sedangkan bagi masyarakat yang berpandangan negatif menganggap bahwa penampilan merupakan sebuah metode pencitraan. Dalam hal keterkaitan antara orientasi partai politik dengan orientasi pilihan calon Presiden meskipun terdapat kesesuaian namun masyarakat cenderung tidak dekat dengan partai politik bahkan cenderung mereduksi jumlah partai politik yang mengkuti kontestasi pemilihan umum. Kata Kunci: konstruksi masyarakat,calon presiden, partai politik Abstract This research finds out about how the views of Tulungagung society toward Presidential candidate also the linkages between the orientation of the political parties with the orientation of choice candidate for President. The theory that used in this research is the construction theory of Peter L. Berger. In this research used method qualitative approach with phenomenological research design. This research was located in Tulungagung. Informants in this research is Tulungagung people who have voting rights and as not blank voters in the Presidential election in 2014 that divided by level of education. The results of this research indicate that construction characteristics of Tulungagung people tend to be negative stereotypes which there is a priori and a posteriori. Related the appearance of Presidential candidate, communities have a positive and negative view of the appearance of candidate for President. On the positive view, community assume that the appearance reflects character of the wearer. As for the people who had a negative view considers that the appearance of an imaging method. In terms of the relationship between the orientation of the political party with the orientation of choice despite the suitability of a candidate for President, but people tend not close to political parties even tend to reduce the number of political parties contestation obeying the general election.
