After the new order era, Islamic radical movements emerged openly after moving in "underground". Ibn Khaldun's sociological theory of the three stages of society development used to analyze the development of the Islamic radical movement. The findings of the research shows that Salafi movement in Indonesia more accurately described as HanbalĀisme movement, or Ibnu Taimiyya movement, hadits scholars movement, or Wahhabism movement. Therefore, if attributed to an entire generation tabi'in and tabi 'al-tabi'in, which was much number of people, the views, characters and their behaviors were contrary with the view of Salafi movement, its nature and behavior.
