<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the level of indulgence in reading short stories, to determine the ability of students to write short stories. And to determine whether there is a correlation with the penchant to read short stories short story writing skills of students of class XI Kuningan SMA 3 Academic Year 2012/2013. This study used quantitative descriptive methods. This study used questionnaires and test techniques. Samples taken are as many as 72 students of the total student population reached 310. The results of this study are as follows. 1) The penchant to read short stories class XI Kuningan SMA 3 Academic Year 2012/2013 enough. It is evident from the level of reading craze gained an average of 40.46. 2) Ability to write short stories class XI Kuningan SMA 3 Academic Year 2012/2013 enough. It is evident from the ability to write short stories gained an average of 55.58. 3) There is a correlation between the craze reading and writing short stories short story class XI student of SMA 3 Kuningan Academic Year 2012/2013. This is evidenced by the results of correlation analysis between penchant reading and writing short stories short story class XI student of SMA 3 Kuningan Academic Year 2012/2013, obtained r count is 0.202.
