<![CDATA[Abstract During the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a digital church phenomenon that uses virtual worship in the process. So far, there weren’t any scholar that examine the biblical basis of the digital church phenomenon and its relationship to the 4.0 era. Existing research only discusses the phenomenon of digital churches only during the Covid-19 pandemic. So through this paper, the author wants to see the nature of the church according to the Bible and its implications for the digital church which is not only limited to the pandemic period, but also in the current 4.0 era. The method that will be used in this research is the exposition of the text of 1 Peter 2:9-10. The exposition found the essence of the church, that the church is "those whom God has called to come out of darkness into His miraculous light" and become God's own people. In this case the people whom God has chosen and called must preach God's great works for this world. By looking at the nature of the church, the practice of digital churches is relevant in the 4.0 era if people can understand and not reduce the essence of the church.. Abstrak Selama masa pandemic Covid-19 terjadi, telah muncul fenomena gereja digital yang menggunakan proses peribadahan secara virtual. Sejauh ini belum terlihat adanya pandangan ahli yang mengkaji landasan alkitabiah fenomena gereja digital serta hubungannya dengan era 4.0. Penelitian yang ada hanya membahas fenomena gereja digital sebatas masa pandemic Covid-19 saja. Maka melalui tulisan ini, penulis ingin melihat hakekat gereja sesuai dengan Alkitab serta implikasinya terhadap gereja digital yang tidak hanya sebatas pada masa pandemic, namun juga di era 4.0 saat ini. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksposisi terhadap teks 1 Petrus 2:9-10. Dalam eksposisi tersebut ditemukan hakikat gereja, bahwa gereja adalah “orang-orang yang telah Allah panggil untuk keluar dari kegelapan menuju terang-Nya yang ajaib” dan menjadi umat kepunyaan Allah itu sendiri. Dalam hal ini umat yang telah Allah pilih dan panggil ini harus memberitakan karya-karya Allah yang besar bagi dunia ini. Dengan melihat hakikat gereja tersebut maka praktik gereja digital relevan di era 4.0 jika umat dapat memahami dan tidak mengurangi esensi dari gereja tersebut.]]>
