Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa melalui model discovery learning dengan metode Market Place Activity. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain model Stephen Kemmis dan Robbin Mc. Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dimana setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tahap perencanaan (planning), tindakan (action), pengamatan (observing), dan refeleksi (reflecting). Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 3 semester 1 SMA Negeri 1 Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, dan tes. Sedangkan Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus porsentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan metode Market Place Activity dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. dari data awal angket yang semula 75,5% menjadi 80%. Hasil observasi siklus I dan II meningkat dari 74% menjadi 79%. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I mencapai 72 dan siklus II mencapai 85,61. Nilai pos-tes dari kedua siklus meningkat sebesar 13,61. Sedangkan prosentase siswa yang memperoleh nilai di atas KKM (70) dari siklus I sebesar 69%, kemudian siklus II terjadi peningkatan menjadi 97%.The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in motivation and student learning outcomes through the discovery learning model with the Market Place Activity method. Observation results of cycles I and II increased from 74% to 79%. Student learning outcomes in cycle I reached 72 and cycle II reached 85.61. The post-test scores of the two cycles increased by 13.61. While the percentage of students who scored above the KKM (70) from cycle I was 69%, then cycle II increased to 97%.
