<![CDATA[AbstractThis study aims to describe the effectiveness of the demonstration method in learning to read poetry. This research does not carry out control variables so it is also called non-experimental research. This study only describes the object as it is. This study uses learning library techniques and test techniques that aim to obtain data. This technique is used to obtain data on the initial and final test scores for learning to read poetry by using the demonstration method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the use of the demonstration method in learning to read poetry in class VII MTs PUI Maja in the 2013/2014 academic year could effectively improve students' abilities. This is proven based on the calculation using the product moment correlation formula above, it is obtained r = 0.88 or 0.88% and based on the guidelines for providing interpretation the correlation coefficient is included in the high correlation.Keywords: Method, Reading Poetry, DemonstrationAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kefektifan metode demonstrasi pada pembelajaran membaca puisi. Penelitian ini tidak melakukan control variable sehingga disebut juga penelitian non-eksperimen. Penelitian ini hanya menggambarkan objek apa adanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik kepustakaan pembelajaran dan teknik tes yang bertujuan untuk memeperoleh data. Teknik ini digunakan untuk memperoleh data nilai tes awal dan tes akhir pembelajaran membaca puisi dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa penggunaan metode demonstrasi dalam pembelajaran membaca puisi di kelas VII MTs PUI Maja Tahun Ajar 2013/2014 efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa. Hal tersebut terbukti berdasarkan penghitungan menggunakan rumus korelasi product moment di atas diperoleh r = 0,88 atau 0,88% dan berdasarkan pedoman pemberian interpretasi koefisien korelasi termasuk pada korelasi tinggi.Kata kunci: Metode, Membaca Puisi, Demonstrasi]]>
