Menyiapkan Gereja Figital melalui Dual Literasi sebagai Upaya Merespons Metaverse

The presence of the metaverse as a new generation of virtual worlds raises pro and con responses from the community, including the church. A proper response is needed in dealing with the presence of the metaverse so that the church will not lose its existential-forming aspects. This study was prepared to provide enlightenment or ideas for the church to criticize and welcome the existence of the metaverse according to the teachings of the Christian faith. The method used is qualitative with literature study techniques. The study found that the church must still be physically present to fulfill its essence and carry out incarnational relations. Still, at the same time, it must prepare itself to accept the metaverse as an instrument of future ministry. In this case, the effort that can be made is the dual literacy method, namely, carrying out two central literacy: life literacy and digital literacy in church. Literacy of life means striving for the development of the congregation's faith toward perfection and preparation for acceptance of the metaverse as a service tool through the development of digital literacy. The literacy of the congregation's life is the basis so digital literacy can run according to the corridor of truth. This dual literacy can be actualized through various activities and programs. AbstrakKehadiran metaverse sebagai dunia virtual generasi baru memunculkan respons pro dan kontra dari masyarakat termasuk kalangan gereja. Dibutuhkan respons yang benar dalam menghadapi kehadiran metaverse sehingga gereja tidak akan kehilangan aspek-aspek pembentuk eksistensinya. Kajian ini disusun dengan maksud agar dapat memberikan pencerahan bagi gereja dalam upaya mengkritisi dan menyambut keberadaan metaverse sesuai ajaran iman Kristen. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik studi literatur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa gereja perlu menjalankan gereja figital (phygital) yang berarti melakukan penguatan sebagai gereja dalam bentuk fisik dan bersiap memanfaatkan layanan digital: metaverse. Pengaktualisasiannya  gereja tetap  hadir secara fisik untuk memenuhi hakikatnya sesuai aspek Alkitabiah dan menjalankan relasi inkarnasional namun sekaligus perlu menyiapkan diri menerima metaverse sebagai instrumen pelayanan masa depan. Usulan metode yang dapat digunakan adalah dual litersi yaitu literasi kehidupan dan literasi digital dalam bergereja. Literasi kehidupan berarti mengupayakan perkembangan iman jemaat menuju kesempurnaan dan persiapan akseptasi metaverse sebagai alat bantu pelayanan melalui pengembangan literasi digital. Literasi kehidupan jemaat menjadi dasar agar literasi digital dapat berjalan sesuai koridor kebenaran. Dual literasi ini dapat diaktualisasikan melalui pelbagai aktivitas dan program.
