The critical role of the church in maintaining the true fellowship of God's people in the digital era. Without eliminating the things that are not too principle in the fellowship of believers with God, such as a place to worship together face to face. The virtual church today is indeed one of the challenges for the congregation of God's people because if you follow the development of the virtual church that is growing today. The author sees that the worship carried out could be more productive. There will often be pros and cons, and the emotional relationship of the congregation to others in the same organization has a very far difference. By preserving the fellowship of God's people without being limited to digital progress, the church must explicitly maintain the substance of the church today. In this article, the research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study seek to maintain the substance of the church today amid the progress of a growing virtual church. AbstrakPentingnya peran gereja dalam menjaga persekutuan sejati umat Allah pada era di gital. Tanpa meniadakan hal-hal yang tidak terlalu prinsip didalam persekutuan orang-orang percaya dengan Allah seperti tempat untuk beribadah bersama-sama secara tatap muka. Gereja virtual pada masa kini memang merupakan salah satu tantangan bagi jemaat umat Allah, sebab jika dengan mengikuti perkembangan gereja virtual yang sedang bertumbuh sekarang ini. Penulis melihat bahwa ibadah yang dilakukan kurang produktif, bahkan akan sering terjadi pro-kontra dan hubungan emosional jemaat terhadap sesama didalam satu organisasi tersebut memiliki perbedaan yang sangat jauh. Dengan menjaga persekutuan umat Allah tanpa dibatasi pada kemajuan di gital, gereja secara eksplisit harus tetap memelihara substansi gereja pada masa kini. Dalam penelitian artikel ini menggunakan salah satu metode kualititat deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian ini berupaya mempertahankan substansi gereja pada masa kini ditengah-tengah kemajuan gereja virtual yang sedang bertumbuh.
