<![CDATA[AbstrakCinematographic works are copyrighted works in the form of moving images such as documentaries, advertisements, children's cartoons or films made based on scenarios. Cinematograpgy work is a protected creation, as stated in the Copyright Act No. 28 of 2014, films are intellectual property and the property of the creator. It means, film is an intellectual property where the creator has economic rights over their work. Currently, there are many cinematographic works on social media, such as feature films that are shown without permission from the creator, which is detrimental to the owner of the copyright or other related rights, the loss arises due to there being a relation between the creators and their users, in which the problem lies in feature films being illegally uploaded to Telegram Social Media for commercial purposes without permission and knowledge of the copyright holder. The method used in this study is a normative juridical approach legislation. This research is analytic descriptive law. The source of data that were collected for this research are secondary and tertiary data. While the legal materials used are primary, secondary, and tertiary law materials. Data collection was carried out by means of a literature study. The analysis of this research was carried out using qualitative techniques. The result of this research is legal protection against copyright infringement of cinematography on Telegram social media which is very detrimental to copyright holders and in favor of the copyright violators. The legal protection used is divided into two, namely preventive in the form of registration of licenses and protection, and repressive in the form of dispute resolution; also divided into two, which are non-litigation and litigation. There is an attempt made by Telegram to combat this in the form of a "report" feature, though there is still a lack of supervision so illegal distribution of cinematographic works on its platform is still very much prevalent. Abstrak Karya sinematografi adalah karya cipta yang memiliki wujud berupa gambar bergerak seperti film dokumenter, iklan, kartun anak atau film yang dibuat berdasarkan scenario. Karya sinematografi adalah ciptaan yang dilindungi, hal ini ditentukan dalam Undang-Undang Hak Cipta No. 28 Tahun 2014, film merupakan kekayaan intelektual dan hak milik sang pencipta. Artinya, film merupakan kekayaan intelektual dimana pencipta memiliki hak ekonomi atas karyanya. Saat ini banyak karya sinematografi di media sosial, seperti Film feature yang ditayangkan tanpa seizin penciptanya, yang merugikan pemilik hak cipta atau hak terkait, kerugian tersebut timbul karena adanya hubungan antara pencipta dan pengguna, yang menjadi masalah adalah film feature tersebut diunggah secara ilegal ke Media Sosial Telegram untuk tujuan komersial tanpa izin dan sepengetahuan pemegang hak cipta. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan. Penelitian ini bersifat hukum deskriptif analitik. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah data sekunder dan tersier. Sedangkam bahan hukum yang digunakan adalah bahan hukum primer, sekunder, dan tersier. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi kepustakaan. Analisis penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah perlindungan hukum terhadap pelanggaran hak cipta karya sinematografi di media sosial telegram yang sangat merugikan bagi pemegang hak cipta dan menguntungkan pihak pelanggar hak cipta tersebut, perlindungan hukum yang digunakan dibagi menjadi dua yaitu preventif berupa pencatatan lisensi dan perlindungan, represif berupa penyelesaian sengketa yaitu dibagi menjadi dua non litigasi dan litigasi. Upaya dari pihak telegram yaitu adanya fitur report tetapi masih kurangnya pengawasan sehingga sering terjadi penyebarluasan karya sinematografi secara ilegal di platformnya.
