Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran dan pengaruh kesulitan belajar terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi di SMA Purnama 2 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan uji analisis regresi linier, dengan jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 82 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar secara positif dan signifikan berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa SMA Purnama 2 Kota Jambi. Artinya, dalam proses dan kegiatan belajar siswa akan selalu menemui kesulian, oleh karena itu peran guru untuk dapat memonitoring dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran tetap harus diperhatikan dan dibutuhkan guna meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa menjadi lebih baik. Abstract This study aims to determine the description and effect of learning difficulties on students' learning motivation on economic subjects in Purnama 2 High School, Jambi City. This study uses a quantitative research design with a linear regression analysis test, with a total sample of 82 students. The results showed that learning difficulties were positive and significantly affected the learning motivation of students of Purnama 2 High School in Jambi City. That is, in the process and learning activities students will always meet difficulties, therefore the role of the teacher to be able to monitor and evaluate learning must still be considered and needed to improve students' learning motivation for the better.
