<![CDATA[Learning English has become a daunting task for ninth grade students, especially on procedure text material which causes low student scores. This research was conducted on students of class IXF at SMP Negeri 2 Taman using the STAD method which proved to be able to increase the percentage of students' scores better. The data used in this study were obtained from comparative descriptive analysis which serves to compare between the initial value and the results achieved according to the target. The results of the analysis showed that the learning outcomes of reading procedure texts in class IXF SMP Negeri 2 Taman students scored equal to or higher than the KKM. The results prove that the STAD method can improve the ability to read procedure text in class IXF SMP Negeri 2 Taman. ABSTRAKBelajar Bahasa Inggris menjadi hal yang menakutkan bagi siswa kelas IX terutama pada materi teks Procedure yang menyebabkan rendahnya nilai siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas IXF di SMP Negeri 2 Taman dengan metode STAD yang terbukti dapat menaikan prosentase nilai siswa dengan lebih baik. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari analisa deskriptif komparatif yang berfungsi untuk membandingkan antara nilai awal dan hasil yang dicapai sesuai dengan target. Hasil analisa memperlihatkan bahwa hasil belajar membaca teks procedure pada siswa kelas IXF di SMP Negeri 2 Taman mendapat nilai sama dengan atau lebih tinggi dari KKM. Hasil itu membuktikan bahwa metode STAD dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca teks procedure pada siswa kelas IXF SMP Negeri 2 Taman.]]>
