<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Seiring perkembangan tekhnologi, saat ini beredar rokok elektrik atau “electronic nicotine delivery systems” atau disebut dengan vapor. Produk ini merupakan rokok yang beroperasi memakai tenaga baterai, rokok ini membakar cairan menggunakan baterai dan uapnya masuk ke paru-paru pemakai. Saat ini, vape memiliki daya tarik sebagai inovasi terbaru untuk para perokok yang terbiasa dengan rokok tembakau, masyarakat cenderung memakai vape ini karena dianggap sebagai inovasi baru, meski harganya cukup mahal. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptifbdengan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data yakni observasi, wawancara semi terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Pemilihan subyek penelitian menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling yakni Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Jenderal Soedirman pengguna dan non-pengguna vape dan penjual atau produsen vape di Kota Purwokerto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan perokok vape di kalangan mahasiswa Universitas Jenderal Soedirman bukan menjadi hal tabu dari pergaulan. Mereka memersepsikan dirinya baik-baik saja karena sebagai perokok vape yang tahu diri dengan memilih tempat merokok dan ketika berada dengan orang tertentu saja. Mereka juga menilai mahasiswi pengguna vape tersebut adalah bukan hal hal yang aneh lagi, karena semakin banyak perempuan yang merokok pada zaman modern sekarang ini di tuntut oleh gaya hidup. Selain itu, para mahasiswa juga memberikan persepsi kepada para pengguna vape ini sebagai perokok yang baik yang mana mereka tidak merugikan orang lain, karena mereka merokok vape di tempat tertentu (tidak sembarangan) dan tidak melanggar aturan. This product is a cigarette that operates using battery power, this cigarette burns liquid using a battery and the vapor enters the user's lungs. Currently, vape has appeal as the latest innovation for smokers who are accustomed to tobacco cigarettes, people tend to use this vape because it is considered an innovation, even though the price is quite expensive. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method using data collection methods, namely observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The selection of research subjects using the Purposive Sampling technique is students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Jenderal Soedirman University, vape users and non-users, and vape sellers or manufacturers in Purwokerto City. The results showed that women vape smokers among students of Jenderal Soedirman University were not a taboo in the association. They perceive themselves as okay because vape smokers know themselves by choosing smoking places and when they are with certain people only. They also consider that female vape users are unusual anymore because more and more women who smoke in modern times are now demanded by lifestyle. In addition, the students also gave perceptions of these vape users as good smokers where they did not harm others, because they smoked vape in certain places (not carelessly) and did not violate the rules.
