This study aims to determine the definition of qashah, the differences between stories and history, the forms of story telling and the purpose of stories and the secrets of their repetition in the Qur'an. The method used in this paper is library research, namely research carried out using literature in the form of books, notes and reports on previous research results. The result of this study is that Qashah has the same meaning as stories, the difference between stories and history, namely stories about the condition of the ummah in the past, previous prophets contained in the Qur'an and it is not known when it happened in detail while history is an incident the past where the events are still known. The main purpose of the story in the Qur'an is so that Muslims can understand the sunnahs of Allah SWT in the universe and the sunnahs that apply to society. In the Qur'an we often find stories that are repeated, but the repetition actually has its own benefits in each repetition, without any differences or contradictions in the whole story.
