<![CDATA[Urban environment uplifting gives multi-benefit for urban dwellers. However, some areas experience environmental degradations as climate change impacts or human misconduct. In higher precipitations, Kelurahan Karangmulya, Kota Cirebon experiences massive runoff due to insufficient drainage systems. To improve the environment quality in Kelurahan Karangmulya, we suggest an engineering approach through urban design practice. Urban design concepts which integrate the ecological aspects and local wisdom are employed. The study found some issues in the region, such as flooding as an annual natural challenge and lacking open public spaces that encourage people to socialize. So, we propose a closed drainage system and green open space design for RW 02 and 11 in Kelurahan Karangmulya. Keywords : urban design, local wisdom, sustainability ]]>
