<![CDATA[Abstrak. Matematika khususnya dalam bidang geometri telah memberikan banyak sumbangsih pada seluruh aspek kehidupan sehari-hari, termasuk dunia medis dan teknologi. Dunia medis dan teknologi merupakan satu-kesatuan yang tidak dapat dipisahkan, dengan adanya teknologi canggih yang membantu proses pengobatan pada dunia medis maka pengobatan akan jauh lebih efektif. Nefrolitiasis atau batu ginjal adalah keadaan dimana ditemukannya batu pada ginjal. Metode ESWL (Extracoporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) adalah tindakan memecahkan batu ginjal dari luar tubuh dengan menggunakan gelombang kejut. Litotripsi termasuk metode pengobatan yang sangat berdampak positif pada pasien penderita batu ginjal. Uniknya pada metode litotripsi ini digunakan prinsip-prinsip elips dalam implementasi cara kerja mesin ESWL.
