<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to increase the competency of bun styling which includes improving cognitive and psychomotor aspects of students in learning chignon styling through the application of a project based learning model in Class XI Beauty Counseling at SMK Negeri 3 Samarinda. The research method applied is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI Cosmetology at SMK Negeri 3 Samarinda for the 2022/2023 academic year with a total of 29 students. The research procedure includes four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The four stages are carried out in two cycles. The results showed that the application of the project based learning model could improve cognitive outcomes through tests of material understanding which also increased, from the pre-cycle the class average value reached 70.69, then increased in cycle I to 80.00 and increased again to 83.97 in cycle II. Then the results of the psychomotor domain through student skills tests also experienced an increase from the pre-cycle class average value reaching 73.50, increasing to 80.52 and increasing again in cycle II by achieving a class average value of 83.97.]]>
