Abstract

Student learning outcomes, especially in the subject of audio and video processing techniques, are not good because students do not want to listen to the lessons given by the teacher and do not want to do the assignments given by the teacher. This study aims to improve student learning SMK Negeri 2 Samarinda. Kemmis and McTaggart's 4-stage classroom action research model was adopted to achieve this goal. Respondents who participated were 32 students from class XII TAV 1 SMK Negeri 2 Samarinda. The instruments used are teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets and cognitive test instruments. The teacher activity observation sheet uses a 4- point Likert scale, the student activity observation sheet uses a check list, and a multiple-choice cognitive test. All data were analyzed using descriptive percentage technique. The results showed an increase in teacher activity from a score of 67.2 (good enough) in cycle 1 to 74.2 (good enough) in cycle 2. Student activity increased from a score of 77.5 (good) in cycle 1 to 83.5 (good) in cycle 2. The average grade increased from 84.2 (Medium) to 85.6 (High) in cycle 2. The number of students who achieved completeness at the end of the cycle reached 100%. So, the recitation method effectively improves student learning outcomes for class XII TAV 1 SMK Negeri 2 Samarinda.
