Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational and broadcasting institutions characterized by kiyai or what we often call "Ustadz" as the central figure, with a modern dormitory system occupied by the students, halls, special rooms and mosques as the focal point of their activities such as reciting books that are not have rows and so on. Islamic boarding schools in general in Indonesia in their development have various kinds of typologies, namely salafiyah, khalafiyah, and Islamic boarding schools that combine the two models and systems of Islamic boarding schools in accordance with the curriculum in Islamic boarding schools. The curriculum at khalfiyah or modern Islamic boarding schools which in general have switched to the madrasa system uses the curriculum used by the government, in this case the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Education and Culture. Meanwhile, the curriculum in salafiyah or traditional pesantren refers to the funun of the yellow books and the completeness of the books they study every day. Basically, Islamic boarding schools have a very important role in fighting for and completing the era of independence, especially in the lines of Islamic education in today's modern masses.
