Abstract

ABSTRACTBurnout  is  a  psychological  response  to  work  stress  that  is  characterized  by emotional  exhaustion,  depersonalization,  and  reduced  feeling  of  personal accomplishment (low personal accomplishment). This paper intends to explain one of the variables that the results of some studies have shown to have a role in burnout , which is self  –  efficacy.  Self-efficacy is the beliefs about one’s ability to accomplish specific tasks. Self-efficacy  affects  employees’  level  to  effort  and  persistence  when  learning  difficult tasks.  A  number  of  research  study  was  found  that  perceived  sense  of  self-efficacy  was correlated  with  perceived  burnout  :  the  lower  the  sense  of  self-efficacy  more  was perceived burnout. The individuals having low self-efficacy have not much control of their behavior and actions. They are more vulnerable to burnout.Key words :Burnout, Self-Efficacy
