<![CDATA[ABSTRAK  Budidaya ikan lele sangat diminati para peternak karena pasarnya yang terus berkembang. Untuk mendapatkan keuntungan maksimal, budidaya ikan lele dilakukan secara intensif. Disamping itu juga terdapat masalah yang timbul pada budidaya ikan lele. Masalah tersebut adalah gagalnya kegiatan pemeliharaan ikan lele ini. Penyebab gagalnya kegiatan ini adalah karena faktor penyakit. Munculnya penyakit ini merupakan hasil interaksi kompleks atau tidak seimbang antara tiga komponen dalam ekosistem perairan ikan yang lemah, patogen yang ganas serta kualitas lingkungan yang memburuk.Peranan komputer sangat diperlukan untuk menyediakan informasi dengan cepat, tepat dan akurat. Salah satunya adalah perkembangan sistem pakar (Expert System) yang merupakan  terobosan terbaru dalam dunia komputer.  Kata Kunci : Sistem Pakar, Diagnosis Penyakit Ikan Lele, Forward Chaining, Backward Chaining ABSTRACTCatfish farmers are in great demand because of the growing market.
