Abstract

Scholarships are funding for individuals in the form of funds for further education. At Ruhama Islamic Middle School, Ruhama Islamic Middle School Scholarships are awarded to students who excel and are economically disadvantaged. The scholarship holders are selected selectively, but a (manual) decision support system is not implemented. As a result, the resulting output is less accurate and slow. In this study, the authors used the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method to provide recommendations for Ruhama Islamic Middle School scholarship recipients. Several criteria are used to determine who receives a scholarship from the foundation, namely the FH average grade, the income of the parents and the number of dependents of the parents. With the SMART method, adding and subtracting alternatives does not affect the weight calculation because each alternative score is independent of the other. The analysis involved is transparent, so this method gives a high understanding of the problem and is acceptable to the decision makers. SMART uses a scale between 0 and 1 to make it easier to calculate and compare the values ​​of each alternative. Compared to other DSS methods, the SMART method is more understandable and simple.
