<![CDATA[The catch of flying fish (Decapterus spp.) at PPI Sorong City is mostly caught using boat bagan fishing gear. This study aims to determine the production of catches and types of flying fish (Decapterus spp.) landed at PPI Sorong City and to determine the fishing gear and fishing fleet used by fishermen to land flying fish (Decapterus spp.). This research was conducted for 1 month, in July 2023. The method used is descriptive method with observation technique. Surveys were conducted on vessels landing fish at PPI Sorong City by weighing fish catches and identifying kite fish. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis with observation techniques. The results of this study obtained the amount of catch of flying fish (Decapterus spp.) as much as 229,000 kg / month with the results of the identification of the types of flying fish (Decapterus spp.) landed at PPI Sorong City found 3 types of flying fish (Decapterus spp.) caught by fishermen around the waters of Sorong-Raja Ampat namely Decapterus macrosoma, Decapterus macarellus, and Decapterus russelli. The tool used is a boat chart. Most of the fleets that landed flying fish (Decapterus spp). at PPI Sorong City were transport vessels with the types of fishing fleets of Fishing Motor Vessels (KMN), Motor Vessels (KM) and Jolor Boats (PJ).]]>
