Abstract

Divorce is a social phenomenon that has a significant impact on society, including in Indonesia. In the last two years, the divorce rate in Indonesia has increased quite significantly. This research aims to specifically examine the reality of contested divorce in the context of a viewing society, how stigmatization is attached to women after divorce, and how contested divorce is in the context of juridical studies. The research results explain 3 important points. First, various social media features are one of the contributors to the high divorce rate in Indonesia. Second, after divorce, women tend to acquire a negative social image. Third, the results of this study reveal that quite a lot of women in Indonesia still experience obstacles and problems in pursuing the court process.
