<![CDATA[History learning certainly does not focus only on memorising material, but the main goal is to be able to build characters who are able to think critically and train students' mindsets. So, the purpose of learning history can be realised if students have high critical thinking skills and metacognition. The purpose of this study is to find the influence between the existing variables, namely the influence of Self-Efficacy on Metacognition and Critical Thinking Ability. This study adopted quantitative research with a casual approach as its research design, conducted at SMAN 2 Klaten. data were accumulated from 118 students in grade 11 based on sampling techniques. The instrument was tested using SEM construct validity and reliability. The data will then be analysed using MANOVA multivariate test to see the effect. The results obtained are that self-efficacy has an influence on both dependent variables by 65 per cent and the rest is explained through other variables. Partially, self-efficacy affects metacognition by 83.3 per cent and affects critical thinking ability by about 0.173 per cent. This finding confirms the importance of self-efficacy in influencing students' metacognition and critical thinking skills in history learning. This study requires a wider range of subjects and factors that become variables that can affect other dependent variables.]]>
