AbstractThe focus of the research is to determine the application of a communicative approach assisted by multimodal text in improving students' writing skills at Tzu Chi International School. The researcher used a single subject research design research method because the target behavior consisted of one student who was a Chinese citizen. The analysis used an A-B-A pattern so that researchers obtained significant results regarding the initial description (baseline 1), intervention, and final description (baseline 2) of the research. Each treatment was carried out between 2-3 times so that researchers could find a range of data trends. The final results of this research are expected to increase students' understanding in analyzing context and improve their ability to develop sentence ideas through their writing. Fokus penelitian untuk mengetahui penerapan pendekatan komunikatif berbantuan teks multimodal (text multimodal) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa di Tzu Chi International School. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian desain penelitian subjek tunggal karena target behaviour terdiri atas satu orang siswa berkewarganegaraan Tiongkok. Analisis menggunakan pola A-B-A sehingga peneliti memperoleh hasil signifikan terhadap gambaran awal (baseline 1), intervensi, dan gambaran akhir (baseline 2) penelitian. Masing-masing perlakuan dilakukan antara 2-3 kali sehingga peneliti dapat menemukan rentang tren data. Hasil akhir penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam menganalisis konteks dan meningkatkan kemampuan mengembangkan gagasan-gagasan kalimat melalui tulisannya.
