PERAN GURU DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEAKTIFAN SISWA MELALUI PENDEKATAN AKTIF MIKIR PEMBELAJARAN IPS TERPADU

Abstract

This study focuses on the role of IPS teachers at MTsN 3 Wonogiri in enhancing student engagement by implementing the MIKiR Active Learning approach in integrated social studies (IPS) classes for eighth graders. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research involving the school principal, curriculum vice principal, two IPS teachers, and seven representatives of eighth-grade students as participants. The research results indicate that the role of teachers as facilitators includes providing learning tools and facilities and delivering materials with variation. As motivators, teachers maintain communication with students and provide rewards and punishments. As evaluators, teachers develop assessment tools, conduct assessments, and follow up on assessment results. The MIKiR Active Learning approach has been optimally applied, enabling students to actively participate in discussions, presentations, games, and question-answer sessions. Teachers also provide guidance and maintain communication to motivate students. Teachers develop various assessment tools in the evaluation process, conduct assessments, and follow up on the results. Thus, the role of teachers as facilitators, motivators, and evaluators through the MIKiR Active Learning approach positively impacts student engagement at MTsN 3 Wonogiri. Penelitian ini fokus pada peran guru IPS Terpadu di MTsN 3 Wonogiri dalam meningkatkan keaktifan siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran Aktif MIKiR pada pelajaran IPS Terpadu kelas VIII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan kepala sekolah, waka kurikulum, dua guru IPS, dan tujuh perwakilan siswa kelas VIII sebagai partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sebagai fasilitator dalam menyediakan perangkat pembelajaran, fasilitas, serta menyampaikan materi dengan variasi. Sebagai motivator, guru menjaga komunikasi dengan siswa dan memberikan reward serta punishment. Sebagai evaluator, guru menyusun perangkat penilaian, melaksanakan penilaian, dan melakukan tindak lanjut hasil penilaian. Pendekatan pembelajaran Aktif MIKiR telah diterapkan secara optimal, memungkinkan siswa untuk aktif dalam diskusi, presentasi, permainan, dan tanya jawab. Guru juga memberikan bimbingan dan menjaga komunikasi untuk memotivasi siswa. Dalam evaluasi, guru menyusun berbagai perangkat penilaian dan melaksanakan penilaian, serta melakukan tindak lanjut. Dengan demikian, peran guru sebagai fasilitator, motivator, dan evaluator melalui pendekatan Aktif MIKiR memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan keaktifan siswa di MTsN 3 Wonogiri.
