Abstract

People in social life often underestimated the presence of migrant workers caused by low skills and lack of education. The decision to continue higher education while working in the host country had tremendous challenges. This study aimed to develop a deeper understanding of the reasons, the problem encountered, and the learning strategies of migrant workers pursuing higher education at Indonesian Open Learning University of Taiwan (Universitas Terbuka Taiwan). There were 11 students participated in this study. This study was descriptive qualitative research, and the interactive model was applied in the analysis method. The data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The finding of this study revealed that: i) The migrant workers had the high motivation to pursue higher education because they wanted to change the stereotype that they were left behind and to seek a better life when they came back to Indonesia; ii) Inadequate time was the main problem to manage the study time due to the high workload; iii) The learning strategies of migrant workers were peer learning, group discussion, and note-taking. However, Indonesian Open Learning University of Taiwan was the excellent choice for the migrant workers in Taiwan to pursue higher education due to the flexibility of learning.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 saat ini menimbulkan banyak tekanan, tak terkecuali pada anak. Anak menjadi salah satu kelompok yang rentan terinfeksi Covid-19. Oleh karena itu, untuk memutus rantai penyebaran virus, perlu adanya sosialisasi dan edukasi yang tepat bagi anak dalam pencegahan Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan anak mengenai Covid-19 serta tindakan preventif yang dilakukan agar terhindar dari virus tersebut di masa kenormalan baru. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 15 anak yang berdomisili di Dolopo, Madiun dengan menggunakan teknik purposif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan field notes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak telah memiliki pemahaman mengenai Covid-19  sebagai virus yang berbahaya dan mematikan. Informasi tersebut diperoleh dari orang-orang sekitar, seperti: orang tua, guru, kakek, nenek, serta media televisi. Selain itu, anak-anak juga mampu melakukan tindakan pencegahan virus, seperti: rajin mencuci tangan, menggunakan masker, menjaga jarak, tidak keluar rumah, serta berjemur. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya anak–anak sudah cukup memiliki kesadaran dalam memproteksi diri serta menerapkan protokol kesehatan di masa kenormalan baru yang disertai dengan dukungan dari seluruh pihak.

Abstract

Konsep ilmu sosial profetik merupakan konsep kenabian yang dimunculkan oleh filsuf Muslim kontemporer, Muhammad Iqbal yang kemudian dikembangkan oleh Kuntowijoyo sebagaimana dalam QS Ali Imran: 110. Adapun unsur-unsur ilmu social profetik, yakni humanisasi, liberasi, dan transendensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai konsep ilmu sosial profetik menurut Kuntowijoyo. Peneliti menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan yang dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) cara pandang pendidikan dalam paradigma humanisasi lebih mengedepankan pada proses memanusiakan manusia. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu menggali dan mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki tiap peserta didik tanpa pandang bulu. Selanjutnya, (2) dalam paradigma pendidikan liberasi, pendidikan dipandang sebagai proses pembebasan dari kebodohan dan ketidakadilan. Pendidik dituntut kreatif inovatif untuk memotivasi peserta didik agar mampu melawan kebodohan yang disebabkan oleh faktor kemalasan. Sementara itu, (3) pendidikan transendensi lebih bersifat pada hubungan vertikal antara individu dengan Tuhannya. Peserta didik yang mempunyai iman yang baik akan lebih berhati-hati dalam mengamalkan ilmunya dan tidak berbuat curang ketika ujian

Abstract

Penggunaan gawai yang marak dilakukan saat ini oleh generasi milenial dapat berdampak positif maupun negatif jika disalahgunakan. Adapun salah satu pengaruh positif gawai adalah banyaknya aplikasi game edukatif yang bisa digunakan oleh anak-anak untuk tumbuh kembangnya, seperti penguasaan bahasa asing. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan aplikasi game edukasi berbasis android yang menarik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pendekatan asset-based community development (ABCD) dengan melibatkan 12 anak usia 7-12 tahun di Desa Kadipaten, Babadan, Ponorogo pada bulan Juli 2021. Adapun jenis game edukasi yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah aplikasi kahoot. Anak-anak sangat antusias dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan aplikasi tersebut. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan pemahaman anak-anak terkait aplikasi game edukasi serta kosakata bahasa Inggris meningkat. Melalui kegiatan ini, anak-anak bisa memanfaatkan secara optimal penggunaan gawai dalam konteks positif.  The current use of gadgets by the millennial generation can have positive and negative impacts if it is misused. One of the positive effects of gadgets is the number of educational game applications children can use for their growth and development, such as mastering foreign languages. This community service aimed to increase English vocabulary by using an interesting Android-based educational game application. The method used in this service is an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach that involves 12 children aged 7-12 years old in the Kadipaten Village, Babadan, Ponorogo, in July 2021. The type of educational game used in this service is the Kahoot application. Children are very enthusiastic about learning English by using the application. The results of community service activities showed that children's understanding of educational game applications and English vocabulary had increased significantly. Through this activity, children can make optimal use of gadgets in a positive context.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru sebagai fasilitator, motivator, dan evaluator dalam proses pembelajaran di masa pandemi Covid-19 di SDN 2 Klesem Kebonagung, Pacitan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan peserta didik. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis data interaktif dari Miles dan Huberman yaitu: reduksi data, sajian data, dan kesimpulan data. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sebagai fasilitator di tengah pandemi Covid-19 yaitu membuat grup WhatsApp dan melakukan strategi home visit. Selanjutnya, peran guru sebagai motivator yakni dengan guru bersikap ramah dan terbuka kepada peserta didik, memberikan hadiah berupa reward serta punishment kepada peserta didik, dan menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan ketika proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Sedangkan peran guru sebagai evaluator yaitu dengan pemberian tugas kepada siswa dan pemberian feedback terhadap tugas mereka serta pemberian remidi kepada peserta didik dengan nilai yang belum memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimum (KKM).Abstract: The purpose of the study is to describe the role of teachers as facilitators, motivators, and evaluators in the learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN 2 Klesem Kebonagung, Pacitan. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants in this research were the principal, class teachers, and students. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews, and document study. The data analysis techniques were an interactive data analysis from Miles and Huberman, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. The results showed that the teacher's role as a facilitator in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic was to create WhatsApp groups and carry out home visit strategies. Furthermore, the teacher’s role as a motivator was to be friendly and open to students, give rewards or punishments to students, and create fun learning when the learning process takes place. While, the teacher’s role as an evaluator was to give assignments to students and provide feedback on their assignments, and provide remedial program to students whose scores that do not meet the minimum completeness criteria.

Abstract

Saat ini, banyak sekali kasus kekerasan seksual terhadap anak karena kurangnya pengawasan orang tua dan minimnya pengetahuan tentang seks pada anak. Oleh karenanya, perlu adanya pendidikan seks sejak dini untuk menghindari kejahatan dan penyimpangan seksual. Pendidikan seks anak usia dini harus disesuaikan dengan tahapan-tahapan usianya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi anak tentang pentingnya pendidikan seks anak usia dini dengan melibatkan peserta didik-siswi Tarbiyatul Athfal Al-Munawwaroh Jabung dengan 21 anak, yaitu 13 anak kelas A, dan 8 anak kelas B. Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan (ABCD) Asset Based Community Development yang mengutamakan pemanfaatan aset dan potensi yang ada di sekitar dan dimiliki oleh komunitas masyarakat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu anak dapat memahami kondisi tubuhnya, lawan jenisnya serta selalu waspada menjaga dirinya dari beragam kejahatan seksualitas di lingkungannya. Diharapkan dengan kegiatan ini, anak-anak dapat menghindarkan diri dari kejahatan dan penyimpangan seksual.

Abstract

Paron Ngawi village has many lands that can be used as agricultural and plantation facilities, which often generate income and even become the main occupation of the community, one of which is cassava. The sales of cassava have not been able to meet their daily needs because the price is relatively cheap. Therefore, there needs to be innovation regarding cassava processing so that it has a high selling value. This community service activity aimed to increase the economic value of cassava into cassava chips with various flavors. The method used in this service is an asset- based community development (ABCD) approach by involving several homemakers in Paron Ngawi Village. The existence of this cassava chip processing training is expected to improve understanding, skills and impact the high interest of buyers.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone must give physical health and environmental hygiene great attention. Parents and educators need to teach early childhood to start getting used to a healthy lifestyle from an early age. This community service aims to increase awareness by habituating a clean and healthy lifestyle in Raudlatul Athfal Al-Munawwaroh, Jabung village, Mlarak, Ponorogo. The method used in this service is the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach with the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) model. 21 students attended this activity. The service result indicated an increase and students' understanding every day about the importance of implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle. In implementing the habituation of a clean and healthy lifestyle, there needs to be cooperation between parents, educators, students, and school policies.

Abstract

The selection of community service based on religious education, namely the reciting Al-Qur’an activity after performing the Maghrib prayer in Semanding Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency, is one of the efforts to facilitate children in learning the Al-Qur’an, which has not been available so far. The method used in implementing this community service is asset-based community development (ABCD). The community is the actor and determinant of development efforts in the environment or is often referred to as community-driven development (CDD). In addition to being a place or facility for learning the Al-Qur’an, this activity is expected to continue even after the Community Service Lecture period is over so that children have better Al-Qur’an skills. The positive impact given from the "Maghrib Mengaji" activity is that children are accustomed to reading the Al-Qur’an/volumes after performing the Maghrib prayers. In addition, children who previously had not memorized short letters now have memorized several short letters of Al-Qur’an.

Abstract
