AbstractThis research explores the security dilemma and its implications for national defense policies, aiming to identify effective resolution strategies. Using qualitative research methods with secondary data, the study examines historical influences, mechanisms of diplomatic engagement, and technological advances in defense. According to historical analysis, the Security Dilemma influenced defense strategies that included nuclear deterrence and arms races during the Cold War. Diplomatic engagement through military hotlines, arms control agreements, and bilateral meetings emerges as pivotal in mitigating tensions. These measures foster trust and reduce misunderstandings, which are crucial for enhancing international security. Furthermore, leveraging defensive technologies such as missile defense systems and cyber capabilities proves essential in deterring threats while minimizing perceived aggression.
