This study aims to determine the location of junior high school students' mistakes in solving flat sided geometric material questions (BRSD) in terms of students' ability levels, so that teachers can identify students who make mistakes in order to improve the quality of learning in class. The research methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi consisting of 37 students including 18 male students and 19 female students. Data collection techniques were carried out by giving test questions given to students with question indicators 1) determining the surface area and volume of a cubical shape 2) solving volume problems related to daily life 3) determining the volume of a cube 4) analyzing geometric shapes prism to determine the surface area 5) calculate the surface area of the building pyramid space. The results of this study indicate that there is an average of 63% of students who experience errors in terms of the level of student ability in working on flat-sided geometrical problems (BRSD).
