Abstract

The aims of research were to increase the activities and study result of students by implementation of Explicit Instruction models. The method of research was classroom action research that consist of planning, acting, observation, and reflection. The technique of data collection used non test and test. The technique of data analysis used qualitative and quantitative analyze. The results of research showed that implementation of Explicit Instruction models for social sciences learning can improve the activities and study result of student.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model Explicit Instruction. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tahapan setiap siklusnya, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan non tes dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Explicit Instruction dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, explicit instruction.
