Abstract

Kata kunci: Berat Badan Bayi Lahir, Ruptur Perineum, Persalinan Normal, Multipara ABSTRACT Perineal rupture is an injury to the perineum caused by natural tissue damage due to pressure on the fetal head or shoulders during the birth process. Perineal rupture can occur spontaneously or intentionally (episiotomy). Perineal rupture can be influenced by maternal factors, fetal factors and supporting factors. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between birth weight of the baby and perineal rupture in multiparous normal births. This research was conducted at Polindes Mata Ie, Mata Ie Village, Bireuen Regency using the Descriptive Analytical method with Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study was all multiparous mothers who gave birth normally at Polindes Mata Ie from January - December 2023, totaling 53 people and the sampling technique used was the total population technique. This research instrument used a checklist sheet and the Mata Ie Polindes register book. Data processing uses the Chi-Square statistical test with a significance value of 5%. Univariate results based on birth weight showed that the majority were born with normal weight, 46 respondents (86.8%), and based on perineal rupture, the majority gave birth with perineal rupture, 31 respondents (58.5%). The bivariate results obtained from the relationship between birth weight of the baby and perineal rupture in multiparous normal births obtained a p-value = 0.017 < α (0.05). The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between birth weight of the baby and perineal rupture of the perineum in multiparous normal births. Suggestions for future researchers to research more deeply into the causes of frequent perineal ruptures in normal deliveries, even in multiparas.
