Materi menentukan FPB dan KPK merupakan materi yang penting karena bersinggungan dengan keseharian. Namun, materi ini sering dianggap sulit oleh siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pada materi FPB dan KPK, beserta upaya yang dapat dilakukan guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV salah satu SD di Pekanbaru. Subjek penelitian yaitu lima orang siswa kelas IV. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa mengalami kesulitan pada materi FPB dan KPK terutama pada soal cerita. Faktor penyebabnya yaitu kurangnya pemahaman konsep, prosedur, dan proses perhitungan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan guru yaitu dengan menanamkan konsep materi FPB dan KPK dengan baik, menjelaskan kepada siswa untuk memahami sesuatu yang diketahui, membaca pertanyaan dengan baik untuk memahami apa yang ditanyakan, dan membuat catatan penting baik berupa gambar, diagram, tabel, grafik atau lainnya. The material for determining GCD and LCM is important because it intersects with daily life. However, this material is often considered difficult by students. The purpose of this study is to describe students' difficulties in learning mathematics on GCD and LCM materials, along with the efforts that teachers can make to overcome these difficulties. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The study was conducted on fourth-grade students of an elementary school in Pekanbaru. The research subjects were five grade IV students. Research data was obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study showed that students had difficulty with GCD and LCM material, especially in word problems. The causative factor is the lack of understanding of concepts, procedures, and calculation processes. Efforts that can be made by the teacher are by instilling the concepts of GCD and LCM material well, explaining to students to understand something that is known, reading questions well to understand what is being asked, and making important notes in the form of pictures, diagrams, tables, graphs or other.
