Abstract

Kata Kunci : Kondisi Fisik Rumah, Pengelolaan Sampah, Stunting ABSTRACTBackground : Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children (body and brain growth) due to malnutrition for a long time. Based on data from the North Bengkulu Argamakmur Health Service in August 2021, as many as two hundred and twelve toddlers with stunting cases were still high. Factors causing stunting can occur from various aspects, one of which is water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), which consists of drinking water sources, physical quality of drinking water, latrine ownership, waste management and physical condition of the house, so that it can increase the risk of diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the house and waste management with the incidence of stunting. Methods : This research method uses a descriptive analytical research study, with a case control design. The samples needed were sixty children under five with thirty case groups and thirty control groups. The instruments used were questionnaires and checklists. Data analysis used chi square statistical test. Results :  The results of bivariate data showed that there was a relationship between the physical condition of the house and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.002) with (OR = 6.90 CI = 95% 2.16-22.09), there is no relationship between household waste management and stunting (p = 0.111) with (OR = 2.75 CI = 95% 0.93-8.10).Conclusion : Suggestions It is expected that the community always opens the window during the day so that the house is not humid and gets enough light, always cleans the floor of the house to avoid dust and viruses, and it is hoped that the community can also provide trash bins so that garbage can be collected first before being burned. and does not result in scattered garbage that can result in the emergence of flies. Keywords: Physical Condition of the House, Waste Management, Stunting
