Abstract

The objective of this research is to explore the impact of Social Intelligence on the Interest in Learning Mathematics of Grade VIII students at MTs Al-Ijtihad Danger. This study employs a quantitative ex post facto research design. Class VIII A is selected as the sample, consisting of 25 students. Data collection methods include observation, questionnaires, and documentation. To analyze the gathered data, prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) are conducted, and hypothesis testing for the research uses simple regression analysis. The hypothesis test results conducted using simple regression analysis yield the equation . From the data processing results, the F-value obtained is 5.478, which is then compared with the F-table with df=20, at a significance level of 5%, equal to 2.12. Therefore, based on the hypothesis testing criteria, if F_(observed) (5.478) > F_table (2.12), then H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of students' interest in learning mathematics caused by their social intelligence in Grade VIII at MTs Al-Ijtihad Danger. Keywords: Social Intelligence, Student Interest, Mathematics Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dampak Kecerdasan Sosial terhadap Minat Belajar Matematika siswa di Kelas VIII MTs Al-Ijtihad Danger. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif ex post facto. Kelas VIII A dipilih sebagai sampel, dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 25 orang. Metode pengumpulan data melibatkan observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Untuk menganalisis data yang terkumpul, dilakukan uji prasyarat (uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas), dan uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan uji regresi sederhana.  Hasil dari uji hipotesis yang telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji regresi sederhana menghasilkan persamaan . Dari hasil pengelolaan data tersebut diperoleh  sebesar 5,478 kemudian dikonversikan dengan  dengan , pada taraf signifikan 5% sebesar 2,12. Sehingga berdasarkan kriteria pengujian hipotesis yaitu jika  maka H0 ditolak. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh minat belajar matematika siswa yang disebabkan oleh kecerdasan sosial yang dimilikinya di kelas VIII MTs Al-Ijtihad Danger.
