Abstract

Bioslurry is a by-product of livestock manure fermentation into biogas which contains organic matter and nutrients which are useful for improving soil properties. This research was conducted with the aim of studying the impact of using bio-slurry on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery on latosol and regosol soils. The research was conducted at KP2 of the Stiper Agricultural Institute which is located in Maguwoharjo Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, DIY. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor in this study was the application of bio-slurry with five levels, namely 0 g, 100 g, 200 g, 300 g, 400 g. The second factor is the type of soil with two levels, namely latosol soil and regosol soil. Each treatment combination was repeated four times. The results showed that there was a significant interaction between the application of bio-slurry fertilizer and soil type on the parameters of shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, root length, and root volume. Applying a dose of 300 g of bio-slurry on latosol soil significantly increased the fresh weight of shoots. The dose of bio-slurry as much as 400 g of latosol soil type significantly increased the fresh weight of the roots. The dose of bio-slurry as much as 100 grams of latosol soil type significantly increased root length. Dosage of bio-slurry with a dose of 100 grams on regosol soil can significantly increase root volume. The use of bio-slurry at a dose of 400 grams significantly increased stem diameter and root dry weight. Keywords: Bio – slurry, type of soil, main nursery
