Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the effectiveness of communal wastewater treatment installations (IPAL) that use anaerobic biofilters in East Tapon Hamlet, Bilebante Village. The sampling technique uses the composite sampling method, which is a water sampling method carried out at one particular location but at different times. Based on the results of laboratory tests on the quality of waste water from the communal WWTP, there were 7 waste water quality parameters that were tested in the laboratory, namely pH, TSS, COD, BOD, oil and fat, ammonia and total coliform parameters. Of these 7 parameters, there are 5 parameter results, namely pH, TSS, COD, BOD of Oil and Fat, which are safe and do not exceed the required quality standards, then there are 2 parameters, namely Ammonia and Total Coliform, which are not safe, exceeding the required quality standard limits. Then for the results of the effectiveness of waste water processing using an anaerobic biofilter, the highest effectiveness is the Oil and Fat parameter, which is 97.1%.
