Latar Belakang: Upaya agar kader dapat menyampaikan informasi pada masyarakat tentang pentinynya Pemberian Makan pada Bayi dan Anak (PMBA) secara maksimal. Perlu diberikan pelatihan pada kader dengan metode pembelajaran yang aktif, yaitu discovery learning yang dapat mempercepat pemahaman atau peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan. Tujuan: Untuk mengkaji efektivitas pelatihan dengan metode discovery learning terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan penyuluhan kader tentang PMBA. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan rancangan quasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design dan pos test -only control group design. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan pada kader dengan menggunakan metode discovery learning pada bulan Juni-Oktober 2022 di Puskesmas Karang anyar Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Jumlah sampel 60 kader. Analisis data bivariat menggunakan uji T-Test Independen. Hasil: Hasil analisis uji statistik menunjukkan ada perbedaan (lebih efektif) metode discovery learning dibandingkan metode konvensional dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan penyuluhan kader tentang PMBA (p-value 0,001). Simpulan: Percepatan peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan memberikan penyuluhan kader tentang PMBA dengan metode discovery learning dapat menjadi pilihan bagi tenaga kesehatan, karena lebih efektif. The Effect of Training with the Discovery Learning Learning Method Increases Health Worker' (Kader) in Abilities about feeding Infants and Toddlers Background: Efforts for health worker to convey information to the public about the importance of optimal feeding of infants and children. It is necessary to provide training to health worker with active learning methods, namely discovery learning which can accelerate understanding or increase knowledge and skills. Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of training using the discovery learning method on knowledge and counseling skills regarding feeding infants and children. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design and post-test -only control group design. The research was conducted by providing training to health worker using the discovery learning method in June-October 2022 at the Karang Anyar Community Health Center, South Lampung Regency. The number of samples is 60 health worker. Bivariate data analysis used the Independent T-Test. Results: Statistical test analysis showed that there was a difference (more effective) with the discovery learning method compared to conventional methods in increasing the knowledge and skills of health worker in counseling about feeding infants and children (p-value 0,001). Conclusion: Accelerating the increase in knowledge and skills in providing counseling to health worker about IYCF with the discovery learning method can be an option for health workers, because it is more effective.
