Eksposisi Artistik Berbasis Seni Partisipatif “Konferensi Kampung Kota”: Mencari Imajinasi dalam Hegemoni Bandung ‘Kota Kreatif’

The Exposition of the Kampung Kota Conference is the introductory phase of a participatory art-based research project titled “Kampung Kota Conference: A Experimental Institution.” This research aims to be a space for nurturing imagination and developing new arenas and expressions in opposing the Bandung ‘Creative City’ hegemony, impacting the gentrification and discrimination of Kampung Kota residents. The exposition of this research combines two people in an exclusive constellation (one-on-one encounter) between the Creative Class and the Kampung Kota Residents. They talk to each other and act together as a pair to speculate with each other and produce knowledge in different subjectivities. I made three pairs of participants considering the specificity of the background location and situation of Kampung Kota and the diversity of professions and disciplines of the Creative Class/creative workers in Bandung. The three pairs of participants took a walk, each getting a maximum duration of one day at Kiara Artha Park, which was built on the former eviction land of Kampung Kota. I use the ‘walking’ method to unlock the potential of the one-on-one encounter research format because it focuses on the direct/living and sensory dimensions between participants and the ground on which they walk. I believe that the meeting of affective and immaterial work engaged in the creative class/ creative workers and Kampung Kota residents has the potential to radicalize the concept of ‘creativity’ itself in the face of the destructive policies of the Creative Cities.___________________________________________________Eksposisi Konferensi Kampung Kota merupakan fase perkenalan proyek penelitian berbasis seni partisipatif dengan judul yang sama, “Konferensi Kampung Kota: Sebuah Lembaga Uji Coba.” Penelitian ini bertujuan menjadi ruang untuk merawat imajinasi dan mengembangkan arena dan ekspresi baru dalam menentang hegemoni Bandung ‘Kota Kreatif’ yang berdampak pada gentrifikasi dan diskriminasi warga Kampung Kota. Eksposisi penelitian ini menggabungkan dua orang dalam konstelasi eksklusif (one-on-one encounter) antara Kelas Kreatif dan Warga Kampung Kota. Mereka berbicara satu sama lain dan bertindak bersama sebagai satu pasangan untuk saling berspekulasi dan memproduksi pengetahuan di dalam subjektifitas yang berbeda. Saya membuat tiga pasang partisipan dengan mempertimbangkan kekhususan latar belakang lokasi dan situasi Kampung Kota, serta keragaman profesi dan disiplin Kelas Kreatif/pekerja kreatif di Bandung. Ketiga pasang partisipan ini berjalan-jalan, setiap pasang partisipan mendapatkan durasi maksimal satu hari di Kiara Artha Park yang dibangun di tanah bekas penggusuran Kampung Kota. Saya menggunakan metode ‘berjalan’ untuk menggerakkan potensi dari format penelitian one-on-one encounter karena mempunyai fokus perhatian terhadap dimensi langsung/yang hidup dan sensorik yang ada di antara partisipan dan tanah tempat mereka berjalan. Saya percaya pertemuan kerja afektif dan kerja immaterial yang bergerak di kelas kreatif/pekerja kreatif dan warga Kampung Kota berpotensi untuk meradikalisasi konsep ‘kreativitas’ itu sendiri dalam menghadapi kebijakan destruktif Kota Kreatif.
