In planning construction costs, planners have an obligation to carry out analysis of cost elements as an aspect of construction performance for efficiency purposes. Costs are derived from the components of material prices, implementation time and labor wages. The choice of materials or construction methods must consider these technical aspects so that efficiency is obtained. This research aims to analyze the choice of using lightweight bricks and bricks in building construction from cost and time considerations. The research results show that the use of bricks is more efficient than the use of lightweight bricks even though the work requires less time. The explanation is that lightweight brick material is a product that must be imported from outside the island, making it a high price.
