<![CDATA[Imposing criminal sanctions is one way of enforcing the law. Persecution is an act that can be subject to criminal sanctions on the perpetrator. Depending on the degree of injury the victim can be classified as light or heavy abuse. Criminal acts of persecution are not always resolved through litigation. so that in this paper the author is interested in researching peaceful procedures at the police office in the settlement of a crime. The purpose of this study is to understand the basic legal considerations and the advantages of resolving minor criminal cases through peaceful means in the police. This study uses normative legal research methods using secondary data, namely laws and regulations, books, journals, and other secondary data related to the object of research and analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that the settlement of minor maltreatment cases by peaceful means has the advantages of fast, efficient and low-cost procedures, and the basis of the police apparatus in choosing a peaceful settlement is on the basis of the principles of justice and expediency.]]>
